Neben den Orignal-Datenbank-Aliasen der Borland Database Engine (BDE) unterstützt das Prgoramm auch Nutzer-Datenbank-Aliase der BDE eXpress für Vista. Unter Windows Vista (und auch schon unter Windows XP) sollten Datenbestände nicht mehr im gleichen Verzeichnis wie das Programm sondern in nutzereigenen Verzeichnissen gehalten werden. Paradox-Datenbanken der Versionen 3,4 und 5 lassen sich aber nicht öffnen, wenn der vollständige Dateiname (Verzeichnisname+Datei) mehr als 70 Zeichen lang ist. Das passiert aber ganz schnell unter Windows, der Ordner "Eigene Dateien" heißt ja in Wirklichkeit allein schon "C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\[Name des Nutzers]\Eigene Dateien\". Sehr lange Dateinamen werden nur von Paradox-Tabellen der Version 7 unterstüzt. Sie können einzelne Tabellen bei Bedarf über Doppelklick auf die Tabelle in die Version 7 konvertieren.
